Apostrophe Catastrophe

I received the following today in a formal application for a £72,000 GBP (a year) job in Singapore.  It came from someone who has 2As (one in English Literature) and 2Bs at A level and a degree from the University of St Andrews.

“If I was working with this 7 year old, before breakfast we might go for a brief walk to get the students appetite up. Lot’s of seven year olds have a high amount of energy which needs to be worked with.”

It’s actually hard to count how many examples of poor grammar there are in these few words.  There are lot, that’s for sure.

Gove…please hurry up and fix our educational system.  People who write like the above applicant will soon be teaching in our schools!
